December 7th Program
Show v. Tell: The Battle of Characterization
Dianna Shuford writes inspirational contemporary and romantic-suspense fiction. She is a 2017 Golden Heart® Finalist, as well as a past Maggie Award Finalist and a Laurie Award winner. Blessed with an over-active imagination and the obsessive love of reading, Dianna began writing poems and stories in the sixth grade and has never stopped. She enjoys working with other writers in an effort to give back to the organizations that have supported her writing journey. In addition to writing, she is also a mother, grandmother, part business owner, and full-time teacher/learning specialist in the public school system.
This workshop will explore the differences between the two types of characterization, when to use each, how to use each effectively, and how to blend the two types to work together. Each type will be defined and discussed using examples and hands-on analysis of the attendees’ personal works.
