Mentee Magnolia Program
Enter the Maggies, Win a Mentor!
Greatly Improve Your Chances of Landing an Editor/Agent!
As a part of the 2019 Maggie Unpublished Awards, we are proud to announce the new Mentee Magnolia Program! THREE (3) Maggie Medallion winners will be selected from the category winners.
What Mentee Magnolias Win:
-
Your own mentor for your winning manuscript!
-
Mentor will read your full novel, up to 85K words, and provide an overall assessment. This will include a summary document (around 4-5 pages) that will provide big picture feedback on overall story, plot, and characters.
-
A one-time analysis of your one-page query letter and one-page synopsis (formatted by industry standards, single-spaced, 12 pt font).
-
After you receive feedback, you get (1) one 1/2 hour call to ask questions.
Rules:
-
You must be a 2019 Maggie Medallion winner (Announced at the M&M banquet October 5th, 2019.)
-
You must have a completed manuscript. For the mentors to provide overall feedback, your manuscript must be finished.

Winners must enter their manuscripts into the Mentee program by October 7th, 2019, the Monday after the award banquet.
-
Entering candidates cannot be under a publishing contract at the time of the awards ceremony on October 5th, 2019.
-
Manuscripts must be no longer than 85K words.
-
After providing feedback, mentors will provide one 30-minute call to ask questions. Please wait until after you've read their feedback to contact your mentor to schedule this call.
